Calf Leather

Patina Finishing 

Patina finishing is a popular technique used to create a unique and desirable look on high-quality leather products such as those made from calf leather. The process involves adding layers of dye and wax to the surface, gradually darkening and enhancing its color for a more vibrant and attractive appearance. Skilled artisans carefully apply each layer to achieve the desired effect, resulting in a personalized and durable product that is sought after by those who appreciate fine leather goods. 

Goodyear Welt 

The Goodyear welt method is a popular technique for crafting durable leather shoes. A leather welt is stitched to the upper and insole of the shoe, creating a cavity for attaching the sole. This method is preferred for high-quality materials like calf leather, providing superior comfort, durability, and easy resoling. It requires skilled artisans and attention to detail, taking several days to complete. The end result is a shoe that exudes elegance and quality, sought after by those who appreciate fine leather goods. 

Cushioning 

Shoe filler, or heel cushioning, is a material used in shoe manufacturing to add support and cushioning to the heel area. It can come in various forms and materials, such as foam, gel, or beads, and is inserted during the manufacturing process. Skilled artisans adjust the amount and placement to achieve the desired effect, which can significantly improve the comfort and durability of the shoe. Shoe filler also adds volume and structure to the heel area, giving the shoe a polished appearance. 

Artisanal Craftsmanship

Our footwear is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans across Europe who meet our ethical sourcing criteria and uphold the highest technical standards. From Portugal to Spain to United Kingdom, each pair of Mellers undergoes a labor-intensive process involving over 80 steps and an average production time of almost 10 days per pair.
